This drawing was inspired by Team Canada's Gold Medal win at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  In typical hockey art, the artist will blur the crowd into the background, making the players the focus of the piece.  Pencil artist, Jeremy Bresciani wanted to capture the passion that Canadian hockey fans show for our game and the huge role they played in this team's success.  The incredible detail in this piece ensures that no matter how often you view it, you will continue to find something new and intriguing.  There are 276 fans in this scene and every one of them is unique and has a detailed expression, both in their face and body language.  Every fan is based on a real Team Canada fan and took the artist over 300 hours to draw.  Among the interesting things to look for in the stands are legendary hockey players, Paul Henderson and Yvon Cournoyer, celebrating in Summit Series 1972 game winning goal fashion at the top of the stairs.  Jeremy's belief is that Sidney Crosby's Golden Goal was the Summit Series goal of the modern generation, so incorporating Paul Henderson into the piece was a way of showing a "passing of the torch" from one generation of hockey fans to the next.
